GENERAL INFORMATION

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The story behind west African union university (WAUU), Cotonou was more impressive one starting from a lower background as prestige tutorial center, the activities of the small organisation that impressed on it self the responsibilities of providing well cut out tutorial service to young people who were taken national examination such as WAEC-NECO-NABTEB examination.

the experiences of affiliation programmes instill in the company to further it reach by providing more enabling educational services at tertiary levels as a global player. 

in it thought of a global university with a wider reach to the nooks and crannies of Africa beyond, the searchlight beamed on the republic of Benin because of proximity to the Federal Republic of Nigeria where the ideas was conceptualized.

The intents among other things, is to build very conscious young Africans who are determined to turn around the fortune of the great continent for the better, particularly to raise all levels of manpower needs in all sectors of its daily live and enshrine a new value system for the continent to meet up the global challenges. the education business operations had since been upgraded to meet all the objectives of the continental goals of better African society where potent leaders are abundantly available to build a more provident, productive, profitable, protected and popular African nations.

LOCATION OF THE UNIVERSITY

 The location is carefully set not far from the international high way that connects Nigeria to Cotonou the other west African countries of Togo, Ghana etc. 

The university main building is five story tower complex (Maison Durosimi) located at carrefour abattoir, Apkapka, Cotonou, Republic of Benin

NAME OF THE UNIVERSITY AND CHARACTERISTICS

The university name itself is unique in all stances because it is the reflection of the strong believe that the promoter as in growth of the sub-region. "THE WEST AFRICAN UNION UNIVERSITY" was adopted to celebrate the resilience and ability of the people who are resolved to build a new haven for themselves and generation to come. The strategic location of the university close to the Atlantic ocean provides its unique coolness as an academic citadel of learning and a comfortable point for knowledge peering at it optimum.

             MISSION:The WAUU mission is to provide a broad range of carrier-oriented educational programmes with the goal of producing and innovative,creative graduates who are well prepared for their chosen careers in a global society.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must possess 5 O'level credit of any international/national examination that includes English language and Mathematics and three other subjects relevant to the course of study and also those with BAC/A' level certificate, Diploma, National Diploma, NCE, HD and other equivalent qualifications for directs entry into the university.

Special consideration for HND/Advanced Diploma holders for top-up/ conversion programmes
